New York City Council · Sep 30, 2026 · starts 1:54:53 · 1 min 22 sec

Gennaro thanks the administration and public, dedicates the hearing to NYCHA maintenance worker Leighton Brown, who died during the storm. He holds a moment of silence and adjourns.

James F. Gennaro

Thank you to the members of the administration, members of the public who have joined us today.

James F. Gennaro

Before I say this, the hearing is adjourned.

James F. Gennaro

Where is my opening statement?

James F. Gennaro

Which to?

James F. Gennaro

It was my opening statement.

James F. Gennaro

Okay.

James F. Gennaro

And I think it's appropriate that I dedicate this hearing to the memory of Leighton Brown, the maintenance worker for NYCHA, who was tragically

James F. Gennaro

killed by the storm, by a tree.

James F. Gennaro

And we'll have just a moment of silence in his memory, after which I will adjourn the hearing.

James F. Gennaro

A moment of silence.

James F. Gennaro

May he rest in peace and may his family be comforted at this time of great strife.

James F. Gennaro

This hearing is adjourned.
