Gennaro seeks grand vision, compares BCR to Oz
Gennaro says he wants a higher-level answer about BCR's management role, funding, and coordination. He envisions BCR as the 'Oz' of coastal resilience to which all other projects answer.
Yeah, I'm not getting a lot from that.
And so, you know, it just, let's, you know, your answers are very detailed, and I appreciate when people go to the micro level and, you know, make sure that they're,
But I think we want to, you know, we want to go like above the treetops a little bit.
And, you know, I want to hear how, you know, sort of like the overall management role that the Bureau is going to have regarding...
Managing or at least keeping track of stuff that's going on as well.
well as the Bureau's vision for, you know, incentivizing projects and funding projects and figuring out.
So, you know, I envision, you know, the Bureau, and that's what I want to accomplish with this bill, I envision the Bureau having like
the grand vision.
So you would be like the Oz of coastal resilience and everyone else that's doing whatever they're doing along the Yellow Brick Road, you know, everybody answers to Oz.
And so that's what I'm kind of looking for.
And to the extent to which
that is achievable or that's what you're trying to do.
That's what I sort of want to hear about, you know.
Not so much the details of this and that, but sort of like the big grand, you know, it's like the city is, you know,
And, of course, so, like, the city is doing resilience.
And I know there are, you know, federal partners and stuff.
You can't really boss them around and tell them what to do, you know.
So, like, the hat study and everything, okay, fine.
But the Bureau kind of like knows all, supervises all, or does whatever it can to influence.
the city along the lines of its grand vision.
And so maybe if the deputy commissioner could sort of speak to that.
