De La Rosa opens Q&A on 311 staffing and service complaints
Chair De La Rosa thanks Morrisroe for 20 years of service, notes the Council has many 311 bills, and contrasts the 93% satisfaction rating with constituents reporting unresolved service requests. She announces questions on staffing.
Thank you so much for your testimony.
I just want to say 20 years is a long time, so we thank you for your service.
And we're looking forward to this conversation.
As I mentioned, there's a ton of bills that the council wants to pursue around 311.
And I think Dino had said it best, my neighbor to the north, that, you know, our constituents are often calling us about quality of life issues.
And, you know, 93%, I think you said, satisfaction rating is impressive.
It doesn't feel like that on the street.
I feel like we get the brunt of folks telling us, like, service requests are being closed and not being fixed.
And I know that there is a process.
So we hope today to dig into some of those questions.
And I know we've been joined by my colleague from the Bronx, Councilmember Riley, as well.
I'm going to ask a few questions about staffing, and then I'm going to open it for committee members for questions, and then I'll come back.
