Q&A

Linda Lee backs centralized applications and asks staffing counts

New York City Council · Sep 30, 2026 · starts 0:48:01 · 1 min 6 sec

Lee seconds the request to join applications and asks again how many events permitting staff are in Queens and on the citywide team. Cerrone says Queens has six and citywide has eight.

Ty Hankerson

At this time, I'll turn it over to Councilmember Lee.

Linda Lee

Hello.

Linda Lee

I just want to second Chair Hankerson's request to try to look into

Linda Lee

you know, joining applications and, you know, making it more efficient.

Linda Lee

And I would love to do that in other agencies as well.

Linda Lee

Not just parks, but...

Linda Lee

Yeah, so I just want to second that one.

Linda Lee

And also, I have the great fortune to have amazing parks in my district.

Linda Lee

I have Elipon, Cunningham.

Linda Lee

We're actually doing a health fair in Cunningham Park this Sunday, which should be exciting.

Linda Lee

But I asked my staff in particular if they had any, knowing the topic, like as members of our office, you know, when you guys are applying for these permits, what are some pain points potentially or things that even as elected offices that you sort of run into with challenges?

Linda Lee

And so, but before I ask that question, just really, can you go back to, and I know that Chair Hankerson asked this, but how many folks are in the events permitting in Queens again?

David Cerrone

One moment, Council Member.

Linda Lee

Okay, sorry.
