Chair Feliz asks about tickets for illegally parked mopeds
Feliz asks about data on tickets for illegally parked mopeds, and NYPD says they do enforce and will pull data.
Yeah, and speaking about parked mopeds, do you have any data on the number of tickets that you've given for illegally parked mopeds that are registered?
We certainly do that.
There certainly is enforcement activity there.
I know that's a big issue.
You generally see that in commercial areas, 20, 30 mopeds parked in the fire lane, which is obviously illegal.
Right.
And to be clear, we're going to summons and seize those devices, irrespective of whether the device itself is legal or illegal, right?
If you've parked a moped in a place where it is not lawfully allowed to be, like if you have a legal moped, but you just parked it on the street, that's subject to summons and to seizure.
So, look, we'll see what data we have on that.
We certainly issue summonses for motor vehicles that are, you know, that are, let's say, partially on a sidewalk, for example.
We have to go back and see how granular the data gets and how much we break it down.
