Council Member Hanks asks for Staten Island data on injuries and seizures
Kamillah Hanks asks for data on e-bike, scooter, and moped injuries and seizures in Staten Island precincts, and NYPD says they will get back to her.
I'm now going to turn it over to Majority Whip Hanks.
Thank you so much, Chair, and thank you all for coming here today.
It's a long hearing.
And yes, that response was very thorough.
I learned a few things.
So, of course, I'm always going to go with the Staten Island enforcement and results and questions that really relate to our outer boroughs.
So the report gives citywide injury and death tolls, but no Staten Island or precinct breakdown.
So Intro 787 would require reports on targeted...
Traffic enforcement.
Can you tell us how many, you know, for the same period, can you tell us how many e-bike, scooter, moped riders were injured or killed in Staten Island's 120 and 121 precincts compared to last year?
So I don't have that on me, but we can get that.
We'll get back to you on that.
That's great.
I actually own a Vespa.
Okay.
All transparency.
And just as a follow-up, what seizures or summonses occurred in those precincts, and will NYPD work with the out-of-borough local elected officials to make sure that these figures are published regularly?
Absolutely.
We'll get you the data on seizures and also run, you know, what you asked for.
No wishes at all.
Thank you.
