Speaker Menin questions JOCO on sidewalk tracking and rider accountability
Menin asks JOCO about their tracking technology for red lights and wrong-way riding, and Cohen says they are working on it and have a zero-tolerance policy with warnings and bans.
Yeah.
Quick question for Joko.
Johnny, just on this tracking that you have for sidewalks, we've seen a lot of Joko bikes go through red lights, wrong way down one-way streets.
That tracking technology you have is available for that as well?
We're working on it.
We'd love to apply it to anything, to going the wrong way down the street, going against traffic, going red lights.
That's the goal.
All of our vehicles are only class one, and we think it should be applied across the board to everybody.
And so what are you doing now if these issues are brought to your attention around, you know, obviously we talk about safety, making sure people are following the rules of the road, people are on your bikes, you guys own them, and you're renting them out.
Yeah.
So if someone brings it to our attention, if they don't bring it to the, you know, the delivery.
company that the person's working for, we right away give the person a significant warning.
And if they get a couple of strikes, two strikes, they're basically banned from the service.
So we, you know, I have to check if it's two or three.
I want to double check that.
But we, you know, we have a zero tolerance policy for, you know.
And then it's have the public at large know that this is the JOCO policy.
Is there something available on your website or?
Yes, it's available on our website and available to all riders.
And the last question, just around training for riders, what kind of ensuring that, you know, people understand, I know you give helmets.
Yes.
So we give free helmets and vests to all riders.
We require that you fill out, you know, take a training, take a, you know, an entire training course.
We also require that you take the DOT training course.
And we're constantly updating, you know, these kind of what's being done.
And we're very supportive of, you know, the right training.
And so if the public had concerns, how would they reach out to JOCO about that?
Sure.
Support at ridejoco.com or you can contact me directly.
But I'm happy to answer.
Thank you.
Thank you.
