Chair Farías opens public testimony and sets decorum rules
Farías reminds the public this is a government proceeding, asks for decorum and silence unless called to testify, prohibits video or photography from the witness table, limits testimony to two minutes, and explains written testimony submission.
I am going to move and open up for public testimony.
And the room is packed.
So I want to remind members of the public that this is a government proceeding and that decorum shall be observed at all times.
Members of the public shall remain silent unless called upon to testify.
All testimony must be relevant to today's hearing on examining the restructure of the mayor's office and
domestic and gender-based violence under the Office of Community Safety.
If remarks stray from the subject matter, speakers will be reminded of the topic and asked to refocus their comments by me.
The witness table is reserved for people who wish to testify.
No video recording or photography is allowed from the witness table.
Further, members of the public may not present audio or video recordings as testimony, but may submit transcripts of such recordings to the Sergeant at Arms for inclusion in the hearing recording.
If you wish to speak at today's hearing, please fill out the appearance slip with the sergeant at arms and wait to be recognized.
When recognized, you will have two minutes to speak on today's oversight topic and or pieces of legislation.
If you have a written statement or additional written testimony you wish to submit for the record, please provide us a copy of that testimony to the sergeant at arms.
You may also email written testimony to testimony at council.nyc.gov within 72 hours of this hearing.
Audio and video recordings will not be accepted.
