The Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence, or NGBV, was created to tackle domestic and gender-based violence as a systemic problem and recognize it as an important issue impacting people across New York City.
Since its establishment, NGBV has been a leader in efforts across the city to assess and respond to domestic and gender-based violence.
These efforts include chairing Domestic Violence Fatality Review Committee, co-leading the Mayor's Domestic Violence Task Force in collaboration with the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice, and operating the city's five family justice centers, just to name a few.
