Santosuosso honors domestic violence victim and asks about funding flow
Santosuosso honors constituent Maria Inez Granda, killed in an extreme act of domestic violence, then asks how the $15.7 million flows to CBOs and Family Justice Centers versus administrative costs. The answer says all $15.7 million is for contracted programs.
Thank you so much, Chair, and thank you so much for being here.
I want to start by just acknowledging that we recently lost a constituent in our district to murder in an extreme act of domestic violence, Maria Inez Granda.
And so in her honor, I just want to thank all the advocates that are doing this work and thank you to the Office of Gender-Based Violence for what you do.
With that, I have just a few questions.
Just to follow up on Councilmember Gutierrez's question, I think sort of what I was hearing is with that $15 million,
plus in additional resources.
I know in your testimony you said it looks like it will support programs and services, legal services, et cetera.
I guess I'm curious how much of that will actually flow to CBOs and the providers in the family justice centers versus sort of like administrative and centralized costs.
I was like, of that $15.7 million, all of it is for programs that are contracted programs.
So, love to hear that.
