New York City Council · Oct 5, 2026 · starts 7:33:28 · 1 min 17 sec

De La Rosa thanks the state and international panel, emphasizing state-city partnership as the first line of defense and thanking MP Asato for her vulnerability. Speaker Menin also thanks the officials for their legislation and expertise.

Carmen N. De La Rosa

Thank you, Senator.

Carmen N. De La Rosa

We have a few questions for this panel, but I wanted to take a moment to thank you all.

Carmen N. De La Rosa

You know, we do believe that city and state government have to work hand in hand, and we have to be the first line of defense in order to make sure that New Yorkers are protected.

Carmen N. De La Rosa

And each and every one of you has been such an important partner in making that accountability a reality on the state level.

Carmen N. De La Rosa

And to the Member of Parliament, thank you for sharing your story and your vulnerability and moving from that experience to action to hold these companies accountable.

Carmen N. De La Rosa

My colleagues do have some questions for you all, but before we do that, speaking of questions.

Julie Menin
