Q&A

Chair Louis asks about family-sized affordable units

New York City Council · Oct 6, 2026 · starts 1:00:53 · 39 sec

Chair Louis asks how many affordable units will have two or more bedrooms; Rachel Loeb says design is not final but the last plan had about 25 to 30 percent two- and three-bedrooms.

I have a couple of questions, and then I'll hand it over to Councilmember Shulman.

Farah N. Louis

How many of the affordable units are expected to be family-sized apartments with two or more bedrooms?

Hi.

Member of the Public - Rachel Loeb

Thank you so much for your question.

Member of the Public - Rachel Loeb

We have not completed the design, so I can't give you the exact account, but we actually have included a significant number of twos and threes because we actually think there's a demand for it.

Member of the Public - Rachel Loeb

And so by the MIH rules, it will be, you know, the number of twos.

Member of the Public - Rachel Loeb

So I think approximately our last plan was 25 to 30 percent.

Member of the Public - Rachel Loeb

But, you know, as we get into design, that'll get finalized.
