Chair Gutiérrez asks about Early Head Start seats and eligibility
Gutiérrez asks about city-funded formerly Early Head Start seats and eligibility. Liss says data can be provided, and city transitional seats prioritize low-income families without specific restrictions.
Related to early Head Start and means tested infant and toddler seats, how many city funded formerly early Head Start seats are there currently and what is the breakdown by age?
That is data we can get back to you with the former, the now what are called city transitional contracts.
Okay.
And do these seats still have any eligibility requirements?
For the city transitional seats, we prioritize families who are low income, but there's not a specific restriction.
Okay.
And is there any long-term plan for these transitional seats, given the launch and the upcoming expansion of 2K?
So we were thrilled earlier this year to be able to provide the funding to ensure continuity for these seats.
We know that many of these providers are longstanding, really, really strong providers in their communities who have been serving particularly our lowest income families for many years.
And so we want to make sure we continue to find ways to create continuity for their services.
Okay, great.
