Sanchez thanks Hankerson, staff, and outlines testimony order
Sanchez thanks Hankerson and committee staff, including River Alexander, Samia Schell, and Natasha Bynum. He notes Council Member Hanif joined via Zoom and outlines that DSNY will testify first, followed by questions and public testimony.
Thank you so much, Councilmember Hankerson.
I look forward to the dialogue regarding these bills today.
I would also like to thank everyone and my team, especially my legislative director, River Alexander, for all of the work in getting this together, and the Sanitation Committee staff, especially Samia Schell.
And last time we shouted out Samia, but this time I really want to make sure that we're shouting out Natasha Bynum, who is also our co-counsel on this committee, and we are so excited by the work.
And I want to make sure before we continue that we have also been joined by the amazing Councilmember Hanif via Zoom.
Thank you, Councilmember Hanif.
And with that, I want to make sure I'm not forgetting anything.
We will start by hearing testimony from the Department of Sanitation, followed by some questions to the agency, and then we will hear testimony from the public.
I will now turn it over to Committee Counsel to administer the oath.
