Aldebol asks how workplace treatment can improve; Lovaglio-Miller cites pay disparities
Aldebol asks how treatment can improve; Lovaglio-Miller describes DC 37's years-long effort to negotiate salaries for accreted managerial titles where pay ranges from $50,000 to $190,000 for similar work, urging a more streamlined floor. Aldebol thanks the witnesses.
And how do you think that can be improved?
So really, give you an example, District Council 37 accreted some managerial titles that are not doing necessarily managerial work.
We started this process in 2015.
About 2015.
We're still trying to negotiate salaries for them.
Right?
So, and I'm saying to you, when the city hired them, they, some get $50,000, some get $190,000.
Like, that range is just ridiculous.
And they're doing similar.
Yeah, it depends on what office you're in.
You know, I could work, three people could work for HRA, all have the same title, and all make varying, you know, salaries, depending maybe on the program or what have you.
As, you know.
Unions, we never tell people to take money out of anybody's pocket.
But what we are trying to do is raise that floor and have something more sustainable and streamlined where if I'm getting promoted into this title, I have an idea of what I'm making.
It's not necessarily left up to the person that's hiring me.
Things like that.
Thank you again for your testimony today.
And we'll definitely be following up with you on some of these questions.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
