DCAS Deputy Commissioner Katrina Porter introduces herself and panel
Katrina Porter, Deputy Commissioner and Chief Human Capital Officer at DCAS, introduces colleagues Katie Ann Otar and Dan Pollack, and describes DCAS's mission to make city government work for all New Yorkers, including its workforce.
Good morning, Chair Aldebar and members of the City's Council's Committee on Civil Service and Labor.
My name is Katrina Porter, and I proudly serve as Deputy Commissioner and Chief Human Capital Officer at the Department of Administrative Services, more commonly known as DCAS.
I'm joined today by my colleague, Katie Ann Otar, Assistant Commissioner for Workforce Operations at DCAS, and Dan Pollack, First Deputy Commissioner for the Office of Labor Relations.
We thank you all for inviting us to appear today and to speak on our efforts to bolster retention and support our city's workforce.
At DCAS, our mission is to make city government work for all New Yorkers, and that includes ensuring that our municipal workforce knows that we are working for them too.
When our city employees have access to resources that improve their quality of life, from child care to career development and advancement, all the way through retirement planning, we are fostering an environment where staff can grow,
grow their families, grow professionally, and grow even more committed to delivering for New Yorkers.
