Gabriela Castillo-Madrid introduces SpaceX and XAI acquisition
Castillo-Madrid, on SpaceX's Government Affairs team, introduces herself, describes SpaceX's reusable rockets, Starlink, and missions, and says SpaceX acquired XAI to blend infrastructure expertise with frontier AI and superintelligence development.
Madam Speaker, Chair de la Rosa, and members of the Committee on Technology, thank you for the opportunity to participate today.
My name is Gabriela Castillo-Madrid, and I am part of the Government Affairs team at SpaceX.
My team's responsibility is to maintain a close relationship between the teams building our advanced technologies, including Frontier SI models, and the communities that use and benefit from them.
SpaceX has grown from a startup nearly 25 years ago to a company that launches more rockets and orbits more satellites every year than any other nation or company.
Developing rapidly reusable rockets has enabled SpaceX to dramatically lower the cost of launch and make new NASA missions and science possible.
Including regular and reliable crew and cargo missions to the International Space Station and the upcoming Artemis mission to the Moon.
Our Starlink satellites now make possible reliable broadband connectivity across over 160 countries, including to locations where high-speed internet has never been available before.
SpaceX's mission is to make humanity multi-planetary.
Earlier this year, SpaceX acquired XAI.
Blending SpaceX's deep technical expertise building large complex infrastructure and complex space systems with the development of superintelligence and frontier SI models.
