Sophie Cope says SpaceX is poster child for AI harms to women
Sophie Cope says she spoke at the prior hearing about AI harms to women, calls SpaceX the poster child of such harms, warns that SpaceX can become a scapegoat for other AI labs, and urges the City Council to make New York City a beacon by restraining tech power.
I spoke last week at the previous hearing, although, Julie, I think you walked out right as I started speaking.
So I'd appreciate if you watched my message about the harms of AI to women in the context.
I talked in the context of open AI and anthropic.
Evidently, based on what we've heard today, SpaceX is the poster child of such harms.
I think the council and I are in full agreement that the answers provided during today's hearing were insufficient, given that other AI companies make these harms much more difficult to enact.
But I don't want SpaceX to be a distraction to the wider issue.
SpaceX is wonderful for the larger AI industry because it provides a scapegoat for labs like Anthropic and OpenAI, which can use the comparison to SpaceX to appear more reasonable.
Grock, ChatGPT, and Claude all reflect the men whose companies built them.
A pervert, a liar, and a crybaby.
The differences between them show that the AI industry is already self-regulating.
I ask again to the City Council, please take this opportunity to let New York City be a beacon to the world and resting power from it.
these men.
Thank you for your time.
