Schulman asks about OATH no-shows and how long a B grade remains
Schulman asks what happens when a restaurant with a B does not appear at its OATH hearing and how long that B stays posted. Schiff says the grade becomes final after the hearing opportunity and DOHMH returns in the next cycle, within a few months when fully staffed, to give another chance at an A.
So I have, what happens when they have an oath hearing and they don't show up to it?
I really wouldn't refer your oath questions to oath, but that is a default when you do not appear.
Okay, let me ask it in the sense of DOHMH.
They have a B, right?
They have a B.
They had an oath hearing.
They didn't show up to the oath hearing.
How long does that B stay up there?
Because B is not great either.
In terms of, you know, people, like, using the premises and all that.
stuff and using the restaurant or bakery or whatever it is.
So is there anything else that you guys can do there to help them get to an A or?
So once that grade becomes final, after that opportunity for the hearing, whether they appear or not, they've had that opportunity for the hearing, the grade becomes final.
And then we will go back for their next cycle.
And that's their next chance to get the A grade.
How long is that cycle?
And when we're fully staffed for a B, we should be back there within a few months.
I don't remember the exact protocol, so I'd have to get back to you.
But we do that for those same reasons.
We want the restaurant to have a new opportunity to get an A grade.
