Aviles rebuts DEP claim that portal is already translated
Aviles says DEP has translated a form or guidance but not integrated translation into the portal. She says users must print a form, return to the website, and manually translate each part, which she calls unworkable and not full language access.
Sure, I recognize Councilmember Avila.
I know we want to get into the panels, but I felt compelled to respond to the administration's claim that did they or done that in terms of translating the portal.
I think from my exploration in these several minutes, it is true that a form guidance has been translated separately.
So we will provide kudos to the administration that actually there is a form there that is translated that will guide someone.
But what this requires for the record is that an individual go into the website.
Print out the form, then go back to the website, and use the form, and then go back to the website to translate each one manually in their head.
This is a crazy way of doing things.
It is not integrated.
What we are asking for is a full integration where you go to one place,
You make your reports, you submit your documentation and evidence, not that you have to have a menagerie of documents and, you know, investigative lenses to figure out how to navigate the two things.
So administration, you're on your way.
You have not yet arrived to the promised land.
Thank you.
