Gennaro clarifies that 60-day provision is not intended to void complaints
Gennaro says many witnesses interpreted the 60-day section as throwing out violations, but that is not the intent. He says the language will be clarified so it does not produce that result.
And here's what I'm going to do.
Well, let me just talk to the council and the committee first because she's the one that's going to have to do it.
Okay, I'm going to do this.
Many people have testified that once the 60-day window at DEP is up, like all these violations get thrown out.
That is an interpretation of that section, but that is not the intent of the section.
And so we'll be more clear that that is not going to be the manifestation of that section.
So I just wanted to put that on the record that while people are in turmoil,
interpreting it that way.
That's not the intent and the way, but it's helpful to hear from people who have that interpretation that only
makes it clear to me that that has to be made more clear, that that is not going to be the result of
of that section.
And, you know, a lot of things are going to get changed.
And so I just...
I would have liked it better if she had done that, you know what I mean?
But she's not supposed to, so it's just like I had to do it, you know?
So anyway, but they had it.
So, you know, just the fact that so many people are interpreting it that way makes it, you know, all the more clear that it has to be clarified.
So that's not...
What people take away from it.
I wasn't mad.
I did it.
Okay.
I did it.
Yes, sir.
