Sanchez asks what incidents fall in the "other" category
Sanchez notes the "other" incident category accounted for 102 of 320 injuries and three of ten fatalities in 2025 and asks what it includes; Shamash says it covers burns, hazardous fumes, electrocutions, and struck-by incidents, among many others, and is a category DOB constantly examines.
My next question is about the other, the category of fatalities and injuries, the incident type called other.
In 2025, the other category accounted for 102 of the 320 injuries and three of the 10 fatalities.
The second largest category after worker falls, I think you already gave me.
For the fatalities, but for the injuries, can you give us an understanding of what kind of incidents DOB places in the other category?
And yes, and
a little specific, but the other category has a lot into it.
For example, burns, hazardous fumes, electrocutions, struck by.
It is a category that we constantly look at because it is a multitude of things that go into that other category, and we realize it's a large category,
but it is something that has a variety of elements to it.
Thank you.
