Dalton says on-site services paused during COVID are being restored
Dalton notes that AA, NA, and other on-site programs paused during COVID and never restarted, and says DHS is working to simplify the process for outside providers and volunteers to return to BAVR.
On-site services at Borden Avenue.
Some services that residents once relied on are no longer available in the building.
During COVID, several on-site programs were paused and never restarted, including Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous.
Some DHS procedures have also made it harder for outside providers and volunteers to come on site.
We are working through these challenges.
We are committed to a simpler, faster process for bringing services back into the building without compromising residents'confidentiality or safety.
Our goal is to make it easy for trusted partners such as recovery group, veterans organizations, and community providers to meet residents where they live.
These services will add to the support already available on site, including employment and training programs, physical and mental health, and substance use services, and access to public benefits and permanent affordable housing.
We will continue to monitor building food and service conditions at BAVR.
