New York City Council · Oct 22, 2026 · starts 0:14:52 · 1 min 23 sec

Gennaro says the ASPCA used to be a good organization but made an illegal contribution to help start NYClass, which he calls corrupt and beholden to Steve Nislick. He notes no member of the horse carriage industry has ever been convicted of animal cruelty in 168 years.

James F. Gennaro

Yeah, I just took some notes on what I heard.

James F. Gennaro

I have some things to say.

James F. Gennaro

There was the, someone made mention of the ASPCA.

James F. Gennaro

Yes, the ASPCA used to be a good organization.

James F. Gennaro

18 years ago, the ASPCA

James F. Gennaro

A 501c3 organization made a contribution to New York Class to help that organization get started.

James F. Gennaro

New York Class is a 501c4 organization, so that was an illegal transaction.

James F. Gennaro

No one talks about that.

James F. Gennaro

And so New York Class was corrupt upon its...

James F. Gennaro

Inception and exists to do the bidding of multimillionaire, billionaire, whatever he is, Steve Nislick.

James F. Gennaro

So, so much for the ASPCA being a square.

James F. Gennaro

They did do a lot of, for years, they were the enforcer, they were the regulator for the horse carriage industry.

James F. Gennaro

They never really found anything wrong, so they got tired of it.

James F. Gennaro

And we talked, someone made mention of what's going on now is animal cruelty.

James F. Gennaro

I'll point out that in the 168 years of the industry, no member of the industry has ever been convicted of animal cruelty.

James F. Gennaro

So that's that.
