Marte recounts decades of inaction and death of Romash Mahajan
Marte says the issue is not new and that decades of accidents, dead horses, and injured people produced only promises. He says inaction led to Romash Mahajan's death and calls the bill an opportunity to ensure Mahajan did not die in vain.
As we all know, this is not a new issue.
Decade after decade, as the list of carriage accidents, dead horses, and injured people piled up, elected officials made big promises.
Elections have been decided because of this.
But it's all been talk.
Despite the promises made, nothing changed.
As more horses and people were harmed,
We are guilty of this as well.
Because of our inaction, Romash Mahajan was killed.
It is unacceptable that it took this tragedy for us to finally pass this bill.
But this is our opportunity to make sure that Romash did not die in vain.
We can honor his sacrifice by ensuring no more lives are lost to a tourist attraction.
