Epstein shares veteran story and communication issues
Epstein describes a veteran in his district who has been job searching for six months and did not know about community hiring. He says poor communication is a problem. Harry agrees to work with the Council to expand outreach.
We all get calls.
I get calls every day.
I got a call the other day from a veteran in my district.
He's like, I've been looking for six months to try to find a job.
This is someone who's served our country, lives in my district, and can't find a job.
A perfect person who's got a great track record working in nonprofits.
To be able to be in this cohort, they don't know that it exists because the poor communication up to date.
We're happy to work with you, Council member, and the whole Council to really expand some of the outreach and awareness.
Some of the organizations you mentioned, we do as an office have relationships with Lesson and Henry Street, et cetera.
And like I said, where we are right now today, we're at the list that I shared, but I do anticipate that that will continue to grow over the coming weeks.
And so happy to have that partnership and have you help amplify that messaging, both for the CBO community as well.
