Epstein stresses data for training
Epstein says knowing job types and industries will help nonprofits and training programs prepare workers. Harry notes many contracts are multi-year and vendors may not know all hiring needs on day one.
I think what we're trying to do is say we want this to work, we want it to be successful, but we want to make sure that you're doing the appropriate outreach.
So the people I talk to get it.
I can't tell you how many times I hear from people like, the city did this hiring hall for jobs.
I went.
The line was out the door.
I waited for three hours, never met with anybody, and I left.
That level of frustration I hear is a problem that we're not right-sizing what we're trying to do, and this is a way to try to right-size it to help people.
Absolutely.
Happy to follow up in two weeks with what we have as of then and welcome the continued conversation.
I do also want to note that because of the nature of the contracts, and many of them are multi-year contracts, even the vendors might not know all of their hiring needs on day one of the contracts.
But that's why we're working with them continuously to try to assess that.
But happy to follow up and continue to partner on.
