Harry details outreach and September 30 job fair
Harry says most outreach is through the referral source network. He cites a September 30 HRA community hiring job fair with 25 employers, 388 job seekers, and 16 conditional offers.
So we've done outreach ourselves through our office to a variety of vendors and community partners as well.
However, most of the outreach and connection is done through our referral source network, through the city agencies who operate the Workforce One Center, SBS, and HRA, who does its business link, and the CBO providers.
By design, we want to drive more people to the workforce system, and community hiring is designed to do just that, increase the amount of employers that are partnering with the workforce system, increasing the amount of jobs.
From a job seeker perspective, we obviously want them to know about that community hiring is here and that there's an opportunity for more jobs.
jobs coming through.
But at the end of the day, we really just want to make sure that people are being connected to the workforce system and that those CBOs are able to provide them with
whatever services they may need, which may be a community hiring job, but it may be a different job that is not necessarily directly tied to community hiring.
And so with that being said,
We do have some, we do partner with our partner agencies.
On September 30th, we actually had a partnership with HRA for community hiring job fair.
We had 25 employers who participated in that, 388 job seekers, and there were even 16 on-the-job conditional offers made.
And so we're happy to partner with you, Councilmember, on increasing the outreach and having more events just like that.
