Harry explains referral source network expansion and borough coverage
Harry says OCH started with the public workforce system, then expanded to city-contracted nonprofit providers, NYCHA, and CUNY. He says referral sources now cover all five boroughs.
Yeah, so I'll start with answering that question first and then happy to give a readout of the providers.
So we started in terms of growing our referral source network with starting with the public workforce system, and that's SBS, who operates the Workforce One Center, HRA's business link team, which also does
job connection services, particularly for...
who are receiving public benefits.
But we've also expanded to the city agencies who are contracting with nonprofit providers for this work.
And so many of the providers now are
have contracts with DYCD, but we also have NYCHA and their REIS program.
We're looking to expand for CUNY as well as other city contracted vendors.
And so in terms of the process for identifying, we work with the city agencies and we're continuing to work with the CBOs of making sure they are plugged in and authorized to
become referral sources.
Our goal is to have as much expansive connection across all of the city, all the populations.
We're proud that there are referral sources in all five boroughs.
And so the process is really trying to maximize the amount of opportunities for New Yorkers through these referral sources.
