Abreu asks NYPD why precinct parking not in Vision Zero Reimagined
Abreu asks why precinct parking was not mentioned in Vision Zero Reimagined and whether NYPD has action items. NYPD says it takes the issue seriously, documents issues, and welcomes council suggestions. Abreu offers to discuss specific precincts in his district.
Why wasn't this issue mentioned in Vision Zero Reimagined?
Are there any action items you're committed to pursuing to help address these problems going forward?
Well, so as I said, it is something that we are taking seriously, that we are looking at, we do look at every day.
We document issues when we find them.
We take action to correct them when we can.
So it's something we absolutely do take seriously.
We want to move forward on and would welcome any suggestions from the council about what we can be doing better.
And, you know, to Councilmember Santos-Suoso's point earlier, like, I'm not doubting that no work isn't happening or that work is happening.
But it's clearly not enough because the behavior on our– every police precinct in my district, I mean, they have part– maybe the 2-6 is better than the others.
But every other police precinct in my district, the 2-4–
The 3-0 and the 3-3 is pretty bad.
Mr.
Chairman, we'd be happy to discuss with you about those specific instances you're seeing in your district.
Thank you.
