Aitl Hassan Ali testifies on dangerous delivery timelines and bike lanes
Aitl Hassan Ali testifies that delivery companies give workers only 5-10 minutes to complete orders because of hourly pay rules, putting workers at risk and pushing them to run red lights or go the wrong way out of fear of deactivation. He supports safer bike lanes.
Hi everyone, my name is Aitl Hassan Ali.
I'm here today to support delivery workers against deactivated accounts from Uber Eats and also for more safe bike lines.
Delivery companies give us 10 minutes, sometimes 5 minutes to complete the order.
Because they pay hourly in New York City, because there is no law.
And that's put the delivery workers in the risk in the road.
So sometimes they pass in the red light.
Sometimes they go like a wrong way, you know, because they scared maybe the account deactivated from the company.
Thank you so much for your time.
