Christopher Leon Johnson supports bills and invites officials to deliver
Christopher Leon Johnson supports every bill on the agenda, including Intro 613, and urges Abreu to spend a week as a deliverista without security detail. He also says the city needs to phase out unsafe e-bikes and protect workers from unfair deactivation.
Yeah, hello.
My name is Christopher Leon Johnson.
I support every bill on the ticker, including Intro 613.
I want to say this right now that I know that a lot of these guys here, including the top people like Ligia and Alejandro, are telling you that you should take at least an hour to be a Delarista for a day, Mr.
Abreu.
But I think you should take a week and be a Delarista.
Do it with no security detail, no city council security sergeant arms.
Just be you.
Be with them.
And you understand what's going on.
If you could take a trip, you could post all over social media yourself in Italy for a week.
You could do the same thing and post yourself all over social media with Be The Liberista.
Wear the same stuff they're wearing and you'll see what them guys go through.
I think you have a bigger outlight about their fights.
Being a libertarian.
I want to say this right now about the bill, 613, that, yeah, we need protected bike lanes, but at the same time, we need to find a way to...
do the phase out for these e-bikes that we see outside the Arista hub with the batteries that look like time bombs.
That'd be my advice going forward.
They need to have like a real program to get those bikes out of the way.
It doesn't matter if you have protected bike lanes to the top, like Brooklyn Bridge or like some of the most dangerous areas in the city where you have to have the protected bike lanes.
But if there's no real bike structure, like the physical bike these guys use to be taken out and get replaced with like Joko bikes or like Wiz bikes or real regulated bikes, it does nothing for them.
Going forward, the city council need to get back to the drawing board to where it's at.
They need to find a way to make sure these guys and gals don't get unfairly deactivated more because even they're on the bike lane and they need to be helped instead of penalized for trying to do their job.
So I know it's kind of short, but I support the bills and the ticker.
And like I said, do a week as a delivery store.
Thank you.
For the record, I don't have security detail.
Maybe you could be my security detail.
I know.
Thank you.
I'm going to leave.
You have to wait for the panel to be excused.
