Ishef Yoda testifies on deactivations, sanitation hazards, and algorithm pressure
Ishef Yoda, a delivery worker since 2017, says all his accounts are deactivated due to false reports and apps do not let workers explain their side. He also raises sanitation truck oil spills causing bike falls and algorithm pressure from acceptance rates and lateness reports.
Hi, good afternoon.
My name is Ishef Yoda.
Thank you for having me to impress myself.
So as a delivery worker since 2017, I've been doing deliveries.
So I know how hard this job is.
Almost 10 years.
Yeah.
It's a long time.
So right now I have all my account deactivated.
Really?
Yeah.
I'm really, that's awesome.
So we're getting a lot of false reports and they're not taking time to having you to like explain your site.
They just listen to the report and deactivate your account.
So we're here today.
If we can get protect from the council and take more serious about how hard this job is.
About street safety, my concern is about sanitation workers.
When they're picking up garbage, sometimes oil left over on the street.
And so when you're not aware of it, sometimes you're riding your bike, you can slide and fall.
So many things happening.
This is my concern.
And one more thing about the delivery app algorithm, they're putting driver in pressure.
They're saying that we are independent, but I don't think so.
So you cannot reject order that you don't want because
They want you to have a type of percentage so you can be able to go online to work.
And sometimes you go to a restaurant, they take time to make the food.
When you get late to the customer, you get a report on the app that you are late.
So this is...
Issue we're facing and I think the council will make a consideration of our concern.
Well thank you for the testimony.
When I go on that tour with you guys I'm curious to, I would like to see how those
pressures take place because I know that it's happening.
We've been hearing about it.
So thank you guys for your testimony and I look forward to joining you on the road soon.
All right.
All right, so here we have three Ibrahim Diallos.
So if you hear your name, come on up.
Ibrahim Diallo, you have three.
Ibrahim Diallo, Ibrahim Diallo, Ibrahim Diallo.

Yes.

Just come on up and just come on up.
And say your name before you speak.
