Kate Coley testifies on dangerous Atlantic and Flatbush intersection
Kate Coley, a resident who walks the city, describes Atlantic and Flatbush as a horrible intersection for women, children, and disabled pedestrians. She says right turns back up school buses and block crosswalks, and urges action at the intersection.
Hi, this is Kate Coley, and thank you for your time.
Of course.
I am a resident, and I walk the city.
And one of the big intersections that I have found that is just horrible for women and children
handicapped is Atlantic and Flatbush.
And I don't see any mitigating devices.
I see people turning right out of desperation because, you know, it's like one
car turns right on that intersection per light.
So you'll have this backup of school buses, and they'll cut off people in the crosswalk.
So this is a hot area.
Watch it.
I am just, something needs to be done.
This particular intersection, this particular time, when I interview UPS drivers or anyone, they say this is one of the worst intersections in the world.
In the whole city.
Thank you for your time.
Thank you.
I mean, the city ought to be looking at that and doing something about it.
Next.
