Banks asks how many facility complaints were filed and resolved

New York City Council · Oct 27, 2026 · starts 1:01:01 · 51 sec

Banks asks how many facility-related complaints were filed by OACs in NYCHA buildings over the past year and how many were resolved. Trimble says approximately 1,700 work orders were submitted by older adult centers. Almost all were closed and completed by NYCHA, with about 250 still open, some pending responsibility determination.

Chris Banks

Okay, so then how many facility-related complaints were filed by OACs in NITRA buildings over the past year, and how many of these such complaints were resolved by DFTA or by NITRA?

Eva Trimble

Thank you, Councilmember.

Eva Trimble

Over the past year, we've had approximately 1,700 work orders submitted by older adult centers.

Eva Trimble

Almost all of those were closed and completed by NYCHA.

Eva Trimble

We have about 250 that are still open right now.

Eva Trimble

of those that are still open may still be in the process of determining responsibility between NYCHA and the provider.

Eva Trimble

NYC Asian doesn't do any direct repairs themselves outside of their commitment with the funding they received from the council last year, but even that is transferred to their providers.

Eva Trimble

So it's really about meeting with the provider and determining whose responsibility the repair is.
