Banks presses on preventing violations and court appearances
Banks asks how NYCHA will ensure this stops happening. Trimble says they cannot fully stop enforcement agency activities but will work with providers to cure violations once aware. Banks says faster response to complaints would help prevent providers from being dragged into court.
And how are you working to ensure that this stops happening?
I don't know if we can ever fully stop.
These are important enforcement agency activities.
But once we are aware of a violation, we will work with the provider to understand the conditions that have resulted and determine the best path forward to cure that violation.
Okay.
I think this kind of goes back to the response and the time frame on when a complaint is put in and how quick you respond back to bringing some resolution to whatever the complaint may be.
I think that would be a much more appropriate response in making sure these types of things stop, where these providers have to be dragged into old court for this.
So hopefully you take that into consideration.
I'll turn it back over to the chair.
Thank you.
