Chair Susan Zhuang opens Aging Committee remarks and notes senior center photo tradition
Susan Zhuang begins by noting a tradition of showing photos from senior centers, but says many centers are afraid to submit pictures. She introduces herself as Chair of the Aging Committee and thanks attendees for the oversight hearing on older adult centers in NYCHA facilities. She thanks co-chair Chris Banks.
Thank you.
And we know we have a tradition.
Start this year, we're going to have pictures showing some situation in all the senior centers.
Unfortunately, we are not able to get new pictures.
A lot of senior centers are afraid to submit the pictures.
But that's still ongoing issues.
Okay, good morning.
I'm Councilmember Susan Zhuang, Chair of the New York City Council's Committee on Aging.
I want to thank you all for being here today for this important oversight hearing on older adult centers in night shift facilities.
I want to thank my co-chair, Councilmember Banks of the Committee of Public Housing for agreeing to hold this hearing with me for thousands of older adults in New York City.
