Encarnación asks how OAC contract funding is allocated
Encarnación says she is new to older adult issues and asks basic questions about OAC contracts. She asks how funding is allocated for each center—by enrollment, square footage, or development population. McKenzie says it is all of the above and involves many metrics and parameters; NYC Aging can share the criteria.
Hello.
So sorry.
I was not, I didn't know I was the first one.
Okay.
So, you know, my predecessor, Deputy Speaker Ayala, she was the older adult whisperer.
So she had a lot more knowledge about older adults and what happens at the centers.
I don't have that much knowledge, so I just, excuse me for asking some basic baseline questions about the contracts.
When it comes to the OAC contracts, can you explain how, like, funding is allocated for each center?
Is it based on enrollment like it is in school?
Is it based on square footage?
How many people live in the development?
I just, to get an idea of how much.
I'd say all of the above.
There's quite a few metrics and parameters that are included in the contract that would determine how much funding is allotted for each site.
We could share with you the criteria for that so that you have more information on it, but it's a lot more than just a couple of words.
Okay.
