Trimble highlights Edenwald Senior Center reopening and elder services
Trimble says NYCHA joined the mayor and Edenwald Houses Resident Association to celebrate the reopening of Edenwald Senior Center after 25 years. NYCHA participates in the Cabinet for Older New Yorkers and connects seniors to services. The HUD-funded Elderly Safe at Home program offers on-site assistance, home visits, and workshops.
Last week, we joined the mayor and Edenwald Houses Resident Association and PAC partners to celebrate the reopening of the Edenwald Senior Center after being inoperable for 25 years.
NYC Aging is just one of our many critical partners.
NYCHA participates in the NYC C.
for older New Yorkers, which convenes nearly 30 New York City agencies to help address the needs of aging adults.
We also connect NYCHA seniors to services right where they live.
The HUD-funded Elderly Safe at Home program, for instance, offers on-site assistance at several NYCHA developments, supporting older adults through home visits, connections to services,
workshops, and help from floor captains, residents who volunteer to support their neighbors.
At NYCHA, we support older adults as they age in place with grace and dignity in a variety of ways, from older adult center programming provided by our partners to the dedicated services at our senior-only buildings.
New affordable housing for seniors developed on our campuses.
