Council Member Aviles asks about citywide housing specialist numbers and performance
Aviles asks how many housing specialists citywide and how performance is tracked. Fellini says she does not have the number and DHS measures success by CityFEPs placements.
If I could ask a quick follow-up, thank you for that.
In terms of, you mentioned OMB is setting the ratios.
Do you have any sense of what is determining, what criteria is OMB using to determine whether or not
our housing crisis is critical enough to actually make sure we have housing specialists that can make sure we get people out of the shelter system?
Yeah, and let me clarify, OMB doesn't set the...
ratio.
It's a model that we have
negotiated with OMB.
So there are, you know, depending on the capacity of the site, a certain number of staff to meet the critical core functions of what should happen in a shelter.
So do you know how many housing specialists do you have citywide?
And do you track performance around those housing specialists?
Yeah, I don't have the number of housing specialists.
That's certainly something we could follow up on.
And our measure of success, again, not related to that role specifically, but is CityFEP's placements and all placements to be.
Sure, sure.
We know assistance comes in many forms, and permanent housing could come through a voucher or through many other means.
We'd love to hear more about how DHS is securing staffing capacity to help make sure that residents are transitioning out of the shelter system, and how do we ensure that that is a robust and supportive environment.
Thank you.
