Brewer opens public testimony and sets three-minute rule
Brewer opens public testimony, reminds attendees that decorum must be observed, and bans video or photography from the witness table. She explains that speakers get three minutes and written testimony can be submitted by email within 72 hours.
So I now open the hearing for public testimony.
I remind members of the public that this is a government proceeding and that decorum shall be observed at all times.
Members of the public shall remain silent at all times.
The witness table is reserved for people who wish to testify.
No video recording or photography is allowed from the witness table.
Members of the public may...
may not present audio or video recordings as testimony, but may submit transcripts of such recordings to the sergeant at arms for inclusion in the hearing record.
I just want to say I'll continue, but we're going to call Rachel Faust from Re-Invent Albany and Ben Weinberg for Citizens Union.
Please come to the table.
If you wish to speak at the hearing, please fill out an appearance card with the sergeant at arms and be recognized.
When recognized, you will have three minutes to speak at today's hearing.
Mayor's Office of Ethnic and Community Media and Government Spending on Advertisements.
That's the title of the hearing.
If you have a written statement or additional written testimony you want to submit for the record, please provide a copy of that to the Sergeant at Arms.
You can also email written testimony to testimony at council.nyc.gov.
Within 72 hours of the close of the hearing, audio and video recordings will not be accepted.
If you're here as a panelist in person, please come up to the table once your name has been called.
Thank you very much.
And we will start with either Rachel or Ben, whoever wants to begin.
