Chair Lee questions MOIA interagency coordination meetings

New York City Council · May 28, 2026 · starts 4:41:37 · 1 min 10 sec

Lee asks about regular interagency task force meetings. Ali describes the quarterly interagency task force bringing together all 46 city agencies, plus her own direct meetings with commissioners at key agencies serving immigrants.

Linda Lee

I'm assuming the answer is yes, but if you could speak to that a little bit, because between MOIA, HRA, DYCD, SBS, DOHMH, like there's a lot of agencies I feel like that you touch, right?

Linda Lee

And so how has that been?

Linda Lee

In terms of, I mean, the last few weeks.

Member of the Public - Faiza Ali

Yeah.

Member of the Public - Faiza Ali

Well, I mean, there is a longstanding interagency task force that MOIA is responsible for.

Member of the Public - Faiza Ali

It brings to the table all 46 city agencies for the very purpose of making sure that we're sharing updates and information, you know, that can potentially impact immigrant New Yorkers.

Member of the Public - Faiza Ali

So those meetings happen quarterly.

Member of the Public - Faiza Ali

But I'll go a step further, you know, and just tap into my organizing background.

Member of the Public - Faiza Ali

It's really important for me as the leader of this office to also engage commissioners at some of the leading agencies where immigrant New Yorkers seek services and make sure that we're building across as commissioners as well.

Member of the Public - Faiza Ali

And so I've been, you know, focused on having those meetings, having those conversations, and making sure that we're elevating those issues even outside of the interagency task force meetings.
