Lee on BRT approval process and 125th Street corridor
Lee asks about DOT's BRT approval process and puts on record her support for a BRT system along 125th Street in Harlem, urging DOT to prioritize it.
So we have a transit development unit that works, as the commissioner said, in very close partnership with the MTA.
And as part of looking at a corridor, one of the things that they do is look at all the data, look at the street design, and figure out where these higher levels of investments are appropriate.
So that's something that we've been starting to look at as part of the new bus plan, and I think there'll be more details as part of that.
Thank you.
And I would state for the record that, you know, my office has sent DLT a letter, as well as other advocates have sent DLT a letter
in support of a BRT bus rapid transit system along 25th Street, which would, you know, touch my district as well as other districts throughout Harlem.
It's something that I support.
But now the ball is on your court is where I will leave it.
But this is something that for us is very important.
We want to put on the record.
I think it's a great place for thinking big and really making sure that Harlem gets the attention it deserves.
