Lee on cycling and micromobility funding allocation
Lee asks what the $11.2M cycling funding will go toward. Beaton explains it covers planners, outreach specialists, concrete work, and markings program to deliver projects, not just plan them.
I'll move over to cycling and micromobility.
The executive plan adds funding for cycling and micromobility.
It includes 11.2 million and 45 new positions in fiscal 2027, 8.6 million and 52 new positions in fiscal 2028, reaching 22.8 million and 54 new positions by fiscal 2030.
What will this funding go towards and how many bike lanes will be installed because of this funding?
Sure.
So in terms of what it goes towards, it's a little bit similar to what we talked about with the bus plan earlier, where it's both the planners and outreach specialists who can
get the project moving, but it also really reinforces the operations around the agency in terms of our ability to deliver.
So it includes money for concrete work.
It includes money for our markings program.
Again, we want to be very committed to not just saying we're coming up with a lot of ideas, but to really delivering them.
