Lee asks Tisch about technology to manage overtime
Lee asks about using technology, IT, and AI to improve timesheet systems and lower overtime. Tisch notes ongoing IT modernization including a new 311 system and digitized command logs, and commits to looking at administrative system updates.
And have you also looked at, I guess this is generally for overtime and other areas within NYPD, because I think I brought this up in the preliminary hearing, but looking at technology, IT, AI, those types of platforms to
figure out timesheet updates, for example, that could help lower overtime or sort of improving the systems within NYPD.
So, you know, I spent a lot of my career building IT systems at the department, and we are always interested in modernizing both our operational and administrative systems.
I will say that we have been doing a lot of operational work on IT.
In terms of IT development, we have a new 311 system for the department that's going to come out.
It's coming out now-ish.
We're digitizing the command log.
We will look seriously at where we can put IT resources to update administrative systems as well.
That's not a guarantee that it will be done, but I take the feedback and we will look for opportunities to do that.
Perfect.
