from federal Homeland Security grants is called the Homeland Security Grant Program.
That was slashed to what we
to be about $53 million.
That is a 40% cut on that bread and butter
grant for Homeland Security grant programs, things that fund our intelligence analysts, our counterterrorism deployments, our heavy weapons teams, our
technology, our domain awareness system.
That is the grant that we are most focused on.
Earlier in the year, when then Secretary Noem announced these cuts, we were hopeful, based on some of the things that the president had said, that that funding would be restored.
Unfortunately, now that it's time to get the funding, we have not seen that restoration.
And our hope is that either somehow that money will find its way to New York City.
