CM Brewer questions OMB on COIB funding and EV vehicle purchasing
Brewer asks about $450,000 for COIB staff and attorney, and about EV purchasing costs for 640 vehicles annually. Solomon notes ongoing conversations for COIB and details $4.7 billion in capital for greenhouse gas reduction projects including $28.9 million for medium-duty EVs over three years.
And then also COIB, another agency that pays attention to corruption.
They need $450,000.
I know that you are paying for new paras to them, terrific, but they need extra to have a better staff salary and to hire an attorney.
Is that something that you would find?
I think they're all part of the conversation that we intend to have.

And then in terms of electrical vehicle,
purchasing power, DCAS, you probably have the best commissioner.
She's smarter than everybody else, I just want to let you know.

So in that case, do you have an estimate of how much additional expense or capital will be needed to purchase 640 vehicles every year to ensure the annual electric vehicle targets are met?
Is that something that you're focused on?
We have in the five-year capital commitment plan more than $4.7 billion, not just for EV vehicles, but for projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
And in there, we also have funding, I believe, for electric vehicles.

We do have actually medium-duty electric vehicle purchases, $9.6 million in FY27, FY28, and FY29, for a total of $28.9 million over the next few fiscal years.
