CM Schulman questions OMB on community engagement unit (CAU) assignments
Schulman raises that council districts no longer have assigned CAU liaisons. Solomon offers to take the concern back to Office of Mass Engagement leadership. Schulman also notes for the record her role in pushing for the Article 6 reversal.
I just want to follow up a little bit on Speaker Menon's question about the mass engagement unit.
Up until recently, every council district was assigned somebody from the community engagement unit, from CAU, and that doesn't really exist anymore.
So what's being done to make sure that that...
Continues to happen because without that it's very difficult to get things done unless unless some I mean some of us have relationships with certain people and IGA and everything else but we were assigned a particular CAU person
I'm happy to take that back, Council Member, and talk to leadership for the Office of Mass Engagement about that.
Okay, and just for the record, Article 6 was something that I...
came in office and pushed for us, and we were able to do it.
We worked with the state.
We appreciate the support of the admin, but I just wanted for the record to state that.
Thank you for building the foundation for us.
Thank you.
Thank you, Chair.
Thank you.
Okay, we've been joined by Councilmember Aviles, and next, actually, sorry, Eric, we have Councilmember Caban on Zoom, followed by Dinowitz.
