Brewer questions CEC on position on bills and working group
Brewer asks if CEC's commission will take a position on the bills; Saeed says no, as it is beyond their scope. Brewer asks about the Future of Community Boards Working Group; Salter describes it as district managers who convene regularly, issued a report, and have called for increased funding and better land use support.
Will your board take a position on these bills, or you're not going to as far as you know?
You're talking about the commission.
Yeah, yeah.
So you see board.
No, I don't think so.
Okay.
Is there some reason why not?
Why not to?
Or do you think it's up to the council to decide and not the CUC?
I think it's, yeah, there's no specific reason.
I think it's beyond the scope of what we are.
Asked to do so, yeah.
Okay.
And the future of community boards working group, what does it achieve?
I just don't know.
That's my ignorance.
They convene on a regular basis.
Obviously, they issued that report a while ago.
They helped do the term limit session two years ago that you were a part of and that we helped fund.
They meet regularly to make recommendations for things.
I think they've called for increased funding.
They've called for better land use, but I'm not aware of the tangible.
achievements.
Okay.
But I find them a useful, obviously, group to talk to.
Okay.
And who's on that?
Is that community board members and so on?
It's DMs.
Multi-district managers.
Yeah.
Okay.
