Q&A

Councilmember Salaam questions citywide calendaring system and measurable changes

New York City Council · Jun 25, 2026 · starts 1:06:59 · 30 sec

Salaam asks about measurable changes from the October 2024 citywide calendaring system and off-calendaring conferences. Zayas says disposition times have been reduced and offers to provide specific numbers.

Yusef Salaam

The citywide calendaring system and off-calendaring conference were announced in October of 2024.

Yusef Salaam

What measurable change in adjournment rates or time to disposition have you seen since implementation, and how many courtrooms or parts are actually using those protocols?

Judge Joseph A. Zayas

Yeah, so the time has been reduced from the time of dispositions.

Judge Joseph A. Zayas

We could get you those numbers.

Yusef Salaam

Okay, thank you.

Selvena N. Brooks-Powers

Thank you, Councilmember.
